Job Description

Business Development Consultant | IT Staffing | Vancouver

Base/Draw $70,000–$110,000 + Commission | Vancouver, BC | Hybrid | Full-Time, Permanent

About the Opportunity

A well-established, nationally recognised IT staffing firm is looking for a driven Business Development Consultant to build and grow a portfolio of IT staffing clients across Vancouver.

This is a high-impact sales role with a clear mandate: open new doors, develop lasting client relationships, and deliver contract, permanent, and SOW-based staffing solutions to organisations across British Columbia. You’ll be joining a business with a proven track record, significant market presence across Canada, and the tools, training, and support to set you up for success from day one.

What You Will Do

  • Generate new client relationships through cold outreach, networking, and referrals — from first contact through to signed agreements
  • Execute prospecting activities including market research, account mapping, pipeline development, and lead qualification
  • Diagnose clients’ workforce gaps and deliver consultative staffing solutions aligned to their goals, culture, and IT roadmap
  • Build, manage, and grow trusted client relationships to increase market share
  • Manage contractor and candidate relationships to ensure satisfaction, resolve performance issues, and extend engagements
  • Deliver in-person presentations, negotiate terms, and close deals
  • Support RFP responses and proposal writing processes
  • Maintain accurate reporting and activity tracking within internal systems
  • Contribute to company-wide growth initiatives and go-to-market strategy refinement

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of business development, cold calling, and sales experience
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build strong, lasting relationships with both clients and candidates
  • Determined, resilient, and consistently willing to go the extra mile
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Confident communicator across phone, video, social media, and in-person settings
  • Professional, discreet, and effective both independently and within a team
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Thrives in a high-impact environment where no two days are the same

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, structured and tiered based on experience
  • Attractive commission structure rewarding both new business generation and account growth
  • Competitive health and wellness benefits from day one
  • 3 weeks paid vacation plus 6 flex days
  • Birthday day off
  • 5 paid volunteer days per year
  • Hybrid working model 3 days in office, Vancouver
  • Dedicated training, resources, and tools provided from day one

About the Firm

Our client is one of Canada’s largest and most established IT staffing organisations, with a national footprint spanning multiple offices coast to coast and a long-standing reputation for delivering results across financial services, energy, public sector, telecommunications, and technology.

Known for strong placement success rates, a collaborative culture, and long-term client partnerships, the business provides its people with the support, autonomy, and resources needed to build genuinely rewarding careers — while delivering exceptional outcomes for both clients and candidates.
