Job Description

Company Overview

Our client, a boutique Canadian IT recruitment and consulting firm, is seeking a Business Development Specialist to drive growth and expand its footprint across Canada — starting with the Greater Toronto Area.

The company is recognized for its collaborative culture, high-performing delivery team, and agile approach to matching top-tier technology professionals with forward-thinking organizations. By combining deep market expertise with a genuine partnership mindset, they’ve built a reputation for delivering speed, quality, and service that clients trust.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a Business Development Specialist, you’ll take the lead on growing client partnerships and driving new business opportunities across the IT sector. This is a role for someone who thrives on relationship-building, consultative selling, and creating long-term value.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new business opportunities across Canada, with a strong focus on the GTA market.
  • Re-engaging lapsed accounts and strengthening relationships with existing clients.
  • Partnering with a highly capable delivery team that ensures exceptional fulfillment for every role brought in.
  • Focusing primarily on permanent placements while contributing to the growth of the temporary/contract division.
  • Collaborating with leadership to design go-to-market strategies and identify emerging client opportunities.
  • Mentoring junior team members and positioning yourself for future leadership opportunities as the business scales.

Skills and Qualifications Needed to Be Successful

  • Proven experience in business development or client acquisition, within IT staffing.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills — able to engage confidently with decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and drive solutions.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Based in the GTA or Ontario, with flexibility for client meetings and networking events.

Value Proposition

  • Competitive base salary with a strong commission plan.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
  • RRSP matching and additional lifestyle allowances.
  • Flexible work model — fully remote, preferably GTA-based for client interaction.
  • Generous vacation and flex time, including half-day Fridays.
  • Ongoing professional development and leadership growth opportunities.

If you’re ready to take ownership of your market, build lasting client relationships, and be part of a company where innovation and autonomy are celebrated, this is your opportunity to grow your career in IT business development.
